East/West All-Star Game moving to Princeton High School

Verizon Wireless Signs On As The Official Sponsor

CINCINNATI (OH) – Southwest Ohio Football Coaches Association’s 29th annual Hacks East/West All-Star Football Game sponsored by Verizon Wireless is getting a new home.

The annual All-Star Game, featuring many of the outstanding senior football players from all divisions throughout Southwest Ohio, will take place at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 10, at Viking Stadium on the campus of Princeton High School.

This is the first time Princeton High School has played host to the game, which routinely features many players signed to play at the college level next fall.  It also provides an opportunity for some players to compete one last time on center stage in front of thousands of fans.  Adding to the excitement of the game is the major renovation project that the larger, fan-friendly 7,000 seat stadium has undergone with the installation of AstroPlay artificial turf.

Verizon Wireless has signed on as the official presenting sponsor for this year’s event. They’ll be included on all marketing and media promotions as well as on hand Verizon H2 and crew interacting with the crowd.

Rosters have been announced and included among several other college-bound players on the East team is Princeton’s record-setting wide receiver Johnny Long (Akron) and Cincinnati Player of the Year Jarrell Williams (Kentucky).  The West roster includes one of Ohio's top defensive backs Brandon Underwood of Hamilton (Ohio State) and Colerain’s Nick Davis (Bowling Green), named Defensive Lineman of the Year by the Anthony Munoz Foundation in conjunction with the “That’s My Boy” Awards Banquet.

Ticket prices for the East/West All-Star Football Game will be $5.00 pre-sale and game day.  All proceeds from ticket sales will go directly toward 20 individual $500 scholarships to be awarded to nominated students from around the Greater Cincinnati area at halftime.

A media day is scheduled for Wednesday, June 9 at Princeton High School and is open to all media, players and coaches.  Promotional announcements and advertising leading up to the event and game day coverage will be delivered by television media partner WCPO Channel 9.
